DAVE WRIGHT: ROUGH GUIDE TO GENESIS

THE BARDS series offers a glimpse into the work of individual poets by way of a folded broadsheet. ROUGH GUIDE TO GENESIS is #13 in the series and features the work of Dave Wright. His collection of 10 poems takes the reader on an image-laden trip. Unfortunately, I never quite arrived. The abundance of galactic terminology left me too weary and confused to dig for a meaning.

For the sheer joy of feeling words roll off the tongue though, one of the shorter poems, PRIMORDIAL, is well worth a second or third read:

	Soup of species, pulsating,
	evolving multiplicities of mutating forms,
fleeting, fickle as a thrown switch
With its abundance of astrological language, this collection didn't do it for me but at a cost of only 10p and a stamped addressed envelope, it has to be worth a read to see if you can solve Mr Wright's cosmic conundrums.
