In this A6-size 24pp work, 28 haiku are given sensible space to work their charm. I found this a pleasant pocket collection. The title epitomizes a homing yen from the author, who left Ohio in 1993 for good. Many of these short poems have been published in magazines. My favourites were Midwestern spring a spider climbs slowly — down the calendar the pianist's hands strike the ivory lightly — needles of rain neon lights reflect in worm wood — a blues number | ||
