PICKINGS

Poetry from NHI publications

THE STRANGE LIFE OF MR JONES
she streched her arms
swayed
revealed her breasts
swung easy,
dark tips a prey for eyes

he thought of pears,
headlights,
hills, hummocks, peaks, peaches,
apples, oranges,
pointed shoes,
bears
hairy bears.

odd pursuits were beginning to tell
on mr jones.
