A little un-pre-possessing in presentation, the mag consists of some twenty plus un-numbered pages of A4 (or is it American letter-size?) paper held together with a single corner staple. The first page has George Elliot Clarke who in TIA BELLA'S PIECE writes: Were I rampant; she panting, Panty-less, her A-OK, Excellent succulence granting, To her appellant quim, entréeThen we get David Adams Richards — not listed in the contributor's notes but probably another Toronto poet — with OLD POETS ARE DOGS dedicated to Milton Acorn who is listed in the notes which say "see website" although no website address is given! Kapka Kassabora takes us to Hong Kong the only city where people take turns To sleep in a bedAlexis Levitin translates the late Portuguese poet Eugenio de Andrade: It is music, this bursting forth from darkness. ... I write with night already In the house. I write About the morning in which I listened To the murmuring of whitewash ...The editor reprints (without permission) a poem in Inuktitut with an English translation by the author Kataisee Attagusiak whom he is nominating for laureateship. Irish poet Kevin Higgins writes about London whilst Londoner Oliver Reynolds is sailing the Rhine. The best of the writing here for me is ULTIMATE HAPPINESS by Virgilio Giotti (1885-1987) The two logs in the fire Shine and crackle softly In the dark, where a woman Scalds her fingers— ... beside her stooping figure, ... today, Fall the white flakes outside. A caged finch warbles In the sunlight; in a basket, A few red apples. | ||
